FAQs / Before You Visit
At Atkins Farm we invite you to slow down, breathe deeply, and enjoy a walk among our seasonal blooms. We’re delighted to share our space with you, but as this is an operational working farm, there are a few important guidelines to ensure everyone’s safety and enjoyment.
Please remember that you are visiting a real farm environment, with uneven ground, insects, and other natural elements. By entering the property, you accept that you do so at your own risk. Visitors must act with good judgement and consideration, both for themselves and others and refrain from behaviour or acts which could affect their safety or the safety of other patrons. Anyone not meeting the conditions of entry will be politely asked to leave and will not be refunded for their ticket.
Atkins Farm Pty Ltd assumes no responsibility for any loss, damage, or injury sustained during your visit. Purchasing a ticket constitutes your agreement to these conditions.
ENTRY CONDITIONS:
ENTRY IS ONLY PERMITTED DURING SESSION TIMES WITH A VALID TICKET. ALL VISITORS REQUIRE A TICKET (EXCEPT FOR CHILDREN UNDER 5). NO OTHER ENTRY IS PERMITTED OUTSIDE OF SESSION TIMES.
Refunds: Tickets are strictly non-refundable, so please double-check your session time and date before booking.
Arrival: Please arrive no earlier than 10 minutes before your session, and depart promptly once it concludes. Each session runs for approximately 50 minutes.
Private Property: No access is permitted outside advertised session times.
LOCATION:
Atkins Farm is located near Meadows in the Adelaide Hills, approximately 45 minutes from the Adelaide CBD. Full address details and parking instructions are provided to ticket holders before their visit.
ACCESS:
Access to the farm is via an unsealed rural driveway, which may be uneven, corrugated, or slippery following rain. Visitors drive on this road at their own risk - please proceed slowly and with care. Low-clearance vehicles may find access more challenging. Please respect local traffic, drive considerately, and enter and exit the property with care.
SESSION TIMES:
Each session is 50 minutes in duration. Due to the booking schedule, extensions of this are unable to be arranged on the day. We ask that you do not arrive more than 10 mins before your allocated time and please leave once your session is finished.
WHAT TO WEAR:
You must wear enclosed shoes as you will be walking around a paddock. It can get quite dusty and quite muddy depending on the weather. Please dress for the weather: on warmer days please ensure you wear plenty of sunscreen and a hat as there is no shade in the field. You may like to bring an umbrella for extra shade as you walk around the field. You may need jackets and gumboots on cool or damp days. Please remain alert for uneven ground and any ground-dwelling residents.
WHAT TO BRING:
Please bring secateurs or garden snips as you will need something to cut your flowers with. Please also bring and a bucket or something to transport your flowers in as we will not be able to supply them. We also suggest that you bring gardening gloves.
BATHROOMS:
There are no bathrooms on-farm for public use. The nearest public toilets are located in Meadows at Battunga Park.
ABOUT THE SUNFLOWERS:
Please note that the sunflowers are field-grown sunflowers (and they are not irrigated) and will vary in length, stem size and flower size depending on the season. More rainfall during the spring growing season will result in larger, taller blooms whilst less rainfall and drier spring conditions will result in smaller blooms but still as pretty. You will be allocated a certain number of sunflowers as part of your ticket. Additional stems will be available for purchase for $3 per stem.
Sunflower stems, although thick, can break easily and we do not want to ruin the experience for the next person. Please be respectful only pick the stems that you intend to take with you and leave the rest for others.
PICKING AREA:
Attendees must remain within the designated sunflower-picking zones. Do not climb fences, trees, or enter any other areas of the farm. Picking of any other plant material is not permitted.
PHOTOGRAPHY:
Visitors are encouraged to take photos for personal use during their visit to Atkins Farm. However, professional photography, where the photographer receives payment from a third party, is not permitted. This includes staged shoots and portrait sessions. If you're unsure whether your photography falls under these guidelines, please email us at hello@atkinsfarm.com.au.
CHILDREN UNDER 18 YEARS OF AGE:
Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult and must be supervised at all times.
STRICTLY NO PETS ALLOWED:
PETS ARE NOT ALLOWED on the property as we are a working farm, this includes leaving pets in vehicles. Please be respectful of our land and your fellow pickers and leave your furry friends at home. (Atkins farm accepts visitors accompanied by an accredited assistance animal. Please contact us to discuss entry prior to booking tickets).
BEES/ WASPS:
Please be aware that sunflowers do attract pollinators such as bees/wasps and they may be present during your session. If you are allergic to bees, we strongly recommend that you reconsider visiting the farm.
PARKING & VEHICLE ACCESS:
Limited parking is available onsite. Please carpool where possible and follow the directions of our parking attendants. Access to the farm is via an unsealed rural driveway, which may be uneven, corrugated, or slippery following rain. Please drive slowly and take care, particularly if your vehicle sits low to the ground.
All vehicles are parked and driven on the property at the owner’s own risk. Atkins Farm Pty Ltd accepts no liability for any damage, punctures, or incidents occurring to vehicles or property while accessing or parked on the premises. We kindly ask that visitors depart promptly at the end of their session to allow parking for incoming guests.
ACCESSIBILITY:
Unfortunately, our paddocks are not flat or smooth and there may be a distance to travel from the carpark to the sunflower paddock. Please contact us to discuss your accessibility requirements prior to purchasing tickets.
COMPANION CARD:
Atkins Farm proudly recognises the Companion Card. Free entry is offered for one carer accompanying the cardholder when using one of the approved cards. Please email us for assistance prior to booking.

Smoking and vaping are not permitted anywhere on the property. We are located within the Mount Lofty Ranges, and our sunflower season occurs during the Fire Danger Season. Anyone seen smoking or vaping will be asked to leave immediately.

On CFS-declared Catastrophic Fire Days, the farm will be closed, and all sessions will be cancelled. In the event of this occurring, we will work with ticket purchasers to reschedule for another session time.
