FAQs / Before You Visit

We would like everyone to enjoy their time visiting our sunflowers and we have just a few simple rules in place. First and foremost, we are an operating farm on private property, please visit with respect. Atkins Farm Pty Ltd accepts no liability for any loss, damage or injury arising from a visit to our farm. By purchasing a ticket, you are agreeing to enter at your own risk and Atkins Farm Pty Ltd will not be liable for injury.

There are inherent risks in entering the sunflower paddock. By entering, visitors accept the inherent risks of which a prudent person is or should be aware. Visitors should also always act prudently given these inherent risks.

Visitors must act with good judgement and consideration, both for themselves and others and refrain from behaviour or acts which could affect their safety or the safety of other patrons. Anyone not meeting the conditions of entry will be politely asked to leave and will not be refunded for their ticket.

ENTRY IS ONLY PERMITTED DURING SESSION TIMES WITH A VALID TICKET. ALL VISITORS REQUIRE A TICKET (EXCEPT FOR CHILDREN UNDER 5). No other entry is permitted outside of these session times. Tickets are strictly non-refundable. Please choose the correct ticket type and date and make sure you can attend before purchasing.

PLEASE NOTE THAT IF YOU PURCHASE TICKETS FOR A WEEKEND SESSION THERE IS A MUCH LONGER WALK TO THE SUNFLOWER FIELD/FIELDS ALONG A GRAVEL WALKWAY AND UP A SLIGHT INCLINE.

LOCATION: Atkins Farm is located near Meadows in the Adelaide Hills, 45 minutes from the Adelaide CBD. Address details will be provided to all ticket purchasers. Please enter and exit the property with caution.

SESSION TIMES: Each session is 50 minutes. Due to the booking schedule, extensions of this are unable to be arranged on the day. We ask that you do not arrive more than 10 mins before your allocated time and please leave once your session is finished.

CHILDREN UNDER 18 YEARS OF AGE: Children under 18 years must be accompanied by an adult and must be supervised at all times.

STRICTLY NO PETS ALLOWED on the property as we are a working farm, this includes leaving pets in vehicles. Please be respectful of our land and your fellow pickers and leave your furry friends at home. (Atkins farm accepts visitors accompanied by an accredited assistance animal).

BEES/ WASPS: Please be aware that sunflowers do attract insects such as bees/wasps which may be present during your session. If you are allergic to bees, we strongly recommend that you reconsider visiting the farm.

PARKING: Limited parking is available please carpool where possible.  Please follow instructions from our parking team. We will not be liable for any parking accidents. We require visitors to leave once their session is finished.

ACCESSIBILITY: Unfortunately, our paddocks are not flat or smooth and there may be a distance to travel from the carpark to the sunflower paddock. Please contact us to discuss access if assistance is required before purchasing tickets.

PICKING AREA: Attendees must stay within the allocated picking areas of the sunflower paddock. A path has been created to move through the field, please stay on the path and do not enter other areas of the farm that are off-limits. This also includes no climbing trees, fences, or other objects. Please do not pick any other plant material.

THE SUNFLOWERS: Please note that the sunflowers are field-grown sunflowers and will vary in length, stem size and flower size. You will be allocated a certain number of sunflowers as part of your ticket. Additional stems will be available for purchase for $3 per stem.

Sunflower stems, although thick, can break easily and we do not want to ruin the experience for the next person. Please be respectful only pick the stems that you intend to take with you and leave the rest for others.

PHOTOGRAPHY: Visitors are encouraged to take photos for personal use during their visit to Atkins Farm. However, professional photography, where the photographer receives payment from a third party, is not permitted. This includes staged shoots and portrait sessions. If you're unsure whether your photography falls under these guidelines, please contact us at hello@atkinsfarm.com.au.

WHAT TO WEAR: You must wear enclosed shoes as you will be walking around a paddock. It can get quite dusty and quite muddy depending on the weather. On warmer days please ensure you wear plenty of sunscreen and a hat as there is limited shade in the field. On cooler days please remember to bring a jacket as it can get quite fresh. Please be alert to our ground-dwelling residents.

WHAT TO BRING: Please bring secateurs and a bucket (or something to transport your flowers in) as we will not be able to supply them. You will need something to cut your sunflowers with. We also suggest that you bring gardening gloves.

STRICTLY NO SMOKING OR VAPING whilst on the property. We are located within the Mount Lofty Ranges, and it is currently Fire Danger Season. Anyone seen smoking or vaping will be asked to leave immediately.

CFS-DECLARED CATASTROPHIC FIRE DAYS: The farm will be closed on CFS-declared catastrophic fire days and all sessions will be cancelled. In the event of this occurring, we will work with ticket purchasers to reschedule for another session time.
